Brundall Parish Council comprises of 12 elected Parish Councillors. Elections are held every 4 years, the next one scheduled for 2027. Through-out this time, if a position becomes vacant, you can apply to be co-opted to the Council, subject to certain requirements.
There are currently no vacancies for co-option.
Councillors work cohesively with the other councillors, the clerk, and residents of the parish, making decisions with regard to local assets and amenities, events, and facilities, including financial decisions impacting the local parish precept. Parish Councils have discretionary legal powers and rights to take action, playing a vital part in representing the interests of local people and improving the quality of life and local environment.
Alongside councillors, local councils have a Parish Clerk, or Proper Officer, who provides advise and administrative support to the council. The Clerk may also operate as a project manager, personnel director, public relations officer and finance administrator, but the role is not secretarial. A parish clerk is answerable to the council as a whole and is the authorised officer of the council in law. Brundall Parish Council is fortunate to have a Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer and a Deputy Clerk & Assets Manager supporting their village.
