This year the award is presented to Julie Mickelburgh for her work as a Brundall parish councillor for over 18 years. Julie has given outstanding service to our village during this extended period of time and has shown true dedication and determination to improve life in the Brundall for our whole community.

She represented the Council on the Recreation and Wellbeing Committee which was originally formed to look for opportunities to improve recreational opportunities in Brundall, formal and informal, and in more recent years has expanded to look more holistically at the health and wellbeing of the village. She used her experience and knowledge of the Broads National Park for local community benefit.

Julie also undertook an important governance role by helping to form policies on the Advisory and Scrutiny Committee to ensure compliance with legislation and national guidance. As a member of the Council’s planning team, she spent many hours walking round the village looking at application sites and advised on planning applications to make appropriate submissions to the planning authority.

She retired from the Council in January 2025 and we thank Julie most sincerely for her long and dedicated service to the Parish Council and to our community and I am delighted to present her with the John Evans Good Citizen Award.
